Writing Again

Assalamualaikum... After 3 years of abandoning this blog, I'm here again. Reading all the posts. How things have changed. Some of the posts made me smile, some brought tears as they remind me of such events, some sounded selfish and arrogant.Sorry. What led me to write again? ...so that I can share ...so that those who might be in the same situation as I am currently in knows that they are not alone sometimes, we do have that lonely time where reading helps..right? ...so that I could somehow inspire I could you know... ...so that I could reflect This blog has somehow bring me back to the past. Can u imagine that its actually 8 years old?? I could read my past. thought. feelings. behaviour. ... so that I can have a healthy way of expressing myself healthier than food. Don't you think so? ...so that neurons in my brain are well connected b'cause writing on blogs need us to think (well, I do). Think of whether its appropriate to share to public o...

Bila nak kawen?

"Bila nak kawen?" "Bila nak kenduri?" These are the regular questions for me lately. ------------ The above 3 lines were written back in Sept 2015. How time flies. Its May 2018. Single. The questions remain the same. However, through out time people have learnt that jodoh, ajal-maut and rezeki are secrets that only Allah knows. Pray. Pray harder. Note: Back tapping my keyboard. Hello world!

The Man of Great Modesty

5 Pesanan Syeikh Ahmad Yassin

Subhanallah No words can describe my guilt for the brothers and sisters in Palestine. Here I am, on my bed with my laptop, have just finished watching two movies while at the part of the world Muslims are tortured and slaved and killed. Reading words of Syeikh Ahmad Yassin made me to update my blog tonight. For the love of brothers and sisters in Islam, I'm spreading the messages of Syeikh Ahmad Yassin: Click here (izinkan share mdthamim) All the words are words of Muhammad. Dear Allah, make me near to you as you are always near to me. Forgive us for all our wrong doings. Guide us, guide us, guide us in becoming true Muslims.

A sunnah: Honey

"Look who's back       Back again.." -eminem- Yes, I'm back! Back tapping the letters :) Since last Ramadhan I've been consuming honey regularly every morning and Alhamdulillah (praise to Allah) my asthma is very well in control. I'm no longer depending on Symbicort ( a drug recommended by Brother 1) and Ventolin is just on standy. But since honey is my breakfast, the inhaler is just as part of my handbag fillers, perhaps its beyond the expiry date ( I should check on that).  #1: Why did I choose honey?        -Because it was part of the sunnahs.        - The last time I had really bad attacks (everyday!!!) honey was the most effective reliever.  #2: Why did I start consuming it again?       - Because its part of sunnah :)          (am I repeating my answer??)               - Since I heard the book by a reverter on "...

Living with Asthma

I was 6 that time when I went to the clinic with Abah to get my check up,  I couldn't breath well. Tight chest. Like a big stone pressing against myself. .. Perhaps that was not my first time visiting the clinic because of asthma, but that was the only vivid image I could recall ... It was never comfortable to live with the feeling of having heavy stones on your chest- Breathing was hard. Talking was hard. Eating was hard. Everything just don't feel right, whether sleeping or wide awake. But Alhamdulillah, I'm still here; writing, trying to share some of my life as an asthmatic person for more than 20 years. Well ... - During my childhood, I didn't do lots of sports and it was until we were in the UK that I got involve in swimming classes and some child- gymnastics activity...quite flexible I am ;) - People call me names like "sempot" (hmm..I don't know what this word is in English) - I am allergy to certain food because they trigger my asthma su...

Tak kenal maka tak cinta

One of the good things that happen in Ramadhan every year is that those who teaches the afternoon session get to go back early ;) (who's not happy about it?)Though the classes ended early, yet I still have to travel an hour before reaching home. 1 hour = 60 minutes = 3600 secs Now, that's a lot of seconds. As to utilize all the time that I have ,while driving, I would usually turn to ikim or hotFM for entertainment. Ikim would most of the time be intellectually engaging, I love that. It keeps my mind busy. Whereas hotFM, is just for the ears, just for some noise. I guess the talk on ikim today incited me to update my blog today ;) It was Brother Shah Kirit talking. I've always adore those who reverted to Islam. Among them: Yusuf Islam, Brother Ridhwan Tee, Yusof Estee, Suhaib Web, Brother Shakour and Matin (my lecturers in IIUM). They have an understanding of Islam that is super much better than myself-one who's a Muslim through heredity. I do f...

Enjoy the vid clip!

Recipe: Leftover Rice

Since Ma & Abah left for Umrah, I had to take over the kitchen. Preparing meals was never bored to me. I enjoyed playing in the kitchen, mixing up spices which I have no idea what the taste would turn out...and serve them to my brothers =) So,  I've been the chef in these few days and I could see lotsa leftover food to be taken care of- especially rice. Hmm..they don't eat as much rice as they did nowadays, everyone is trying hard to cut down the calories. As for that, I've been Googling and asking around some friends and relatives on ideas to reuse the cooked rice. We don't want to waste food, do we? When the other end of the world is starving, waiting for people to send them some healthy food. Note: Before cooking, it is important to assure that the leftover rice is still safe to eat. How? By the colour, smell and taste. Below are 3 simple recipes that we can try out to save from wasting our precious rice. Recipe #1 : Rice Porridge Google for recipe ...

My 2013 news =)

Oh, had'nt I realize that this blog has been abandoned. 4 months... "the blog" would have asked for a divorce if it were married to me. hehe. My 2013 news Health Life: 1. My Herbalife life is a failure. I wasn't committed enough to put all the savoury dishes aside. 2. I'm opting for a natural diet. Calorie control + exercise. Yet, persistence and motivation are crucial!! 3. Asthma life. This year is a bit nasty. Am taking up a different medication (drugs) to control my asthma since it has been attacking every month. But Alhamdulillah, this new drug is working on me. So I'll be consuming it for another 2 months and we'll see how it goes... (p/s: I have not been taking it for almost a week. Tak sempat nak pegi beli laaaa..#bigbrotherisnotwatching#) Perhaps, I should share more about health in my blog so that it is more focus. Perhaps life of an asthma girl (na..my life is just like the others).Perhaps..I should just write whatever I fell like (mu...

Adding by Subtracting

School break is always a relief for the teachers. It means freedom from the pupils and school, though not entirely, but most of time..YES! (Can you imagine, living without school break for the children? and the teachers??) As for my break, I'd started with travelling and spending time with my two  lovely gorgeous friends to Singapore (am not telling you about that in this post..), then travelling locally and most importantly, managed to visit the Big Bad Wolf (BBW) yearly book sale (yup, he was "bad"). In this post, I'm about to share an idea brought by the author Karim Rashid, which I bought during BBW, in his book Design Yourself (fantastic book!) Before we begin, lets have a brief introduction about this author. You can read here.  One of the ideas which he wrote in his book was "Adding by Subtracting".  It really catches me to read the combination of such opposite words. The idea he brought was to make people to value QUALITY rather tha...

Mint Tea

I’m very sure most have tasted mint tea, the one that gives you soothing and calming effect right after the first sip. However, it’s  very uncertain whether you have tried mint tea with a little extra ingredients like cardamom and cinnamon. Well, here's what we tried this morning =)  mint tea + cinnamon + cardamom Ingredients: 600 ml of water 1 full spoon of tea leaves 2 cinnamon stick 1 teaspoon of cardamom Few fresh mint leaves Sugar (as you like) Methods: 1. Boil the water together with tea leaves, cinnamon sticks and cardamom. 2. Turn the heat off. Add mint leaves. 3. Add sugar you like. 4. Serve while hot. A simple healthy drink. Try it out! p/s: I think its called "Shai Naknak" in Arabic.

Precious Babies

Kampung-ku

Salam and Hi Alhamdulillah, Malaysia is still a safe country where everyone can easily commute from one place to another. Not only that we travel because of work (like myself), but we're also able to see our loved ones, who could be residing hundreds of kilometers away. "Kampung" is a Malay word which means the area out of town and its very commonly heard during the festive seasons where little children would say "nanti saya nak balik kampung.." (i'll be gong back to kampung). Other than literally be out of town, it also brings the meaning of meeting the grandparents and relatives because kampung in social context means a place where families gather at the house of the grandparents, which usually IS at the outskirt of town. Below are two pictures which I've taken from my last visit to my kampung in Teluk Intan, Perak. Early 1960's: My Great Grandmother with Mama Atok's first house after the Independence of Malaya 2012: Teluk In...

Mahrams

Salam and Hi This would be my first entry for 2012. Alhamdulillah, manage to find a topic which intrigue me to write a post :P When Islam was revealed to the Prophet pbuh, many rejected the message brought by him. Islam came as a religion which guides everyone in all aspects of life, from worshiping God to the ways we sleep (the adab of sleeping). What makes it more interesting is that it teaches us about the relationship between men and women too. In Islam, there are boundaries between the men and women and as to set the line, the relationship falls into two categories which are: 1. Mahrams 2. Ghayr Mahrams There are various books and sites that could help us to understand further on this topic but here is a link that, InshaAllah, could enlighten us too.   CLICK HERE Other than that, below is a diagram in Malay language which is very helpful in making us to understand the relationship between men and women.
